Direct trades

How two holders exchange Pals without a listing, and the rules the exchange follows.

A direct trade moves Pals between two accounts by agreement, without a listing and without a fee. Both sides must confirm before anything moves.

Sending an offer

Open the Pal you want and select Offer trade, then choose the holder and the Pals you are offering. You can offer up to three Pals and request up to three in return.

An offer can include Treats on either side, on its own or alongside Pals. An offer of Treats for nothing is permitted and is the ordinary way to make a gift.

Reserved state

Every Pal named in a live offer is marked reserved. A reserved Pal cannot be listed, cannot be included in a second offer, and cannot take part in a playdate.

The reservation lifts when the offer is accepted, declined, withdrawn, or expires.

Counter-offers

The receiving holder can accept, decline, or counter. A counter replaces the original offer entirely; it is not a negotiation on top of it.

There is no limit on how many times an offer can be countered, but each counter restarts the expiry period.

Expiry

An offer expires 24 hours after it is sent or last countered. Expired offers cannot be revived and must be sent again.

Settlement

When both sides have confirmed, every Pal and every Treat named in the offer moves at once. There is no partial settlement: if any part of the offer cannot complete, none of it does.

Each transferred Pal has the receiving account appended to its provenance. As with a sale, a completed trade cannot be reversed.

Restrictions

Pals inside their maturity window cannot be traded. Neither can Pals with an accessory attached; remove the accessory first.

You cannot trade with an account you also control. Trades between accounts sharing verification details are declined automatically.
