Spending Treats
What Treats can be exchanged for inside the programme, and what happens to a balance you do not spend.
Treats can be spent on three things. Each is described below with its cost.
Buying a Pal
Buying a listed Pal transfers its price from your balance to the seller's. The Pal moves to your collection immediately and your name is appended to its provenance.
You cannot buy your own listing, and you cannot buy a Pal with a balance lower than its price. There is no borrowing and there is no partial payment.

Accessories attach to one Pal at a time and can be moved between Pals you hold at no cost. See Accessories.
Playdates
A playdate costs 200 Treats and is charged when the pairing is confirmed, not when the outcome is produced. The charge is not refunded if the pairing does not produce a variant.

Fees
The only fee is the marketplace listing fee, charged to the seller when a listing sells. It is 5 per cent of the sale price, rounded down.
Listing a Pal is free. Cancelling a listing is free. Direct trades carry no fee.
An unspent balance
Treats do not expire, do not accrue anything, and do not convert. A balance you never spend stays exactly as it is for as long as your account is open.
If you close your account, the balance is discarded. It cannot be transferred to another account, paid out, or recovered afterwards.
